SMALL BACKYARD RETREATThe owners of this backyard wanted it all - a dining area, an outdoor kitchen, a fire pit, a water feature and more. The challenge was for Decorative Landscape Borders to fit all of this into a narrow 1,200 square foot backyard. Using AutoCad, they were able to design and install a dream backyard for their clients.

PATIO HANGOUT WITH FIREPLACEThis patio used to be much smaller and plagued with drainage problems. Dogwood Landscaping enlarged the patio and installed a gas outdoor fireplace, transforming this space into the family’s favorite hangout.

STABILIZED OUDOOR SPACEThis new home had soil that was prone to settling. To ensure that the new fire pit and outdoor living space would last for many years, Koskey’s Turf Management used over 40 tons of base stone and a StabiliGrid system beneath the stairs and pavers next to the home’s foundation.

PAVER PATIO WITH BRICK SOLDIER COURSEFor this patio, Long Bay Landscape Company used Belgard Hardscapes’ Lafitt Patio Slab, which has the look and texture of cut slate. Reclaimed antique brick was used to create a soldier course border that adds a unique dimension and coordinates with the outdoor fireplace.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY OUTDOOR LIVING AREAThis outdoor living space was designed with the whole family in mind. Parents can relax during the day or enjoy a cozy fire in the evening, while kids play basketball in the pool or go down a hidden waterslide. RYCO Landscaping used natural stone and Belgard Hardscapes pavers to finish this project. A Bluestone island in the pool, decorative stone columns, a fire pit, seat walls and a custom pool deck complete the design.

ISLAND PATIOOriginally, these Connecticut homeowners only had a simple lawn and play set. The transformation, carried out by The English Lady Landscape, included a paver patio with a firebowl that’s surround by water like an island, as well as two waterfalls and a putting green. A mixture of perennials, trees and shrubs provide year-round interest.

Features include a mahogany-covered pergola, an outdoor kitchen, a 20-by-50-foot pool and a fireplace.
