In this project, in this line right here, we did have an existing wood retaining wall that was failing and we couldn't really go back much because of the grade. We didn't want to get over 3 feet high on the wall. So in this section, we replaced the wall pretty much in the same place it was with a concrete foundation with a CMU block wall that's been filled with rebar and concrete, waterproofed in the back with drainage, and then a steel-troweled stucco applied over the surface.
We used a southern moss color in the integral stucco. On the backs of the wall there's drainage rock, and then at the very top of that, because the lawn comes right to the surface of the wall, we have an exposed strip of gravel and we did a decorative bit of black mix and pebble as the top surface.
