Patio furniture for an English country garden should be quaint and full of character. Employ antique furniture pieces and create miss-matched dinning and sitting arrangements. The more humility and age your garden furniture shows, the better. However, make sure that the pieces are sturdy and safe for use.

Worn wooden Adirondack chairs and well used garden benches are especially appropriate. An ornate, painted, wrought iron, bistro set will add lots of charm to any cottage garden. Wicker or bent willow chairs with floral seat cushions are another excellent option. Teak is another material option for cottage garden furniture.

Look for patio furniture in traditional, homey, styles. Stay away from straights lines and sharp angles. Curved backs and wooden slats are ideal features. The best places to find furniture for a cottage garden are antique and second-hand stores. You may also want to look on resell sites such as CraigsList or eBay.
